The class will consist of only 6 students with a focus on providing a hands-on, personalized culinary experience that will hone your gourmet cooking skills. The Aviation Maintenance course is designed to prepare individuals with civilian or military experience for the Federal Aviation Certification of Airframe and Power Plant Technician. Coupling classroom discussions and shop exercises, the individual will become competent in the Airframe phase of Certification in F.A.A. Regulated Aircraft Maintenance.

This course must follow the guidelines established by the NC Office of EMS. The Office of EMS must approve courses that include portions delivered via distance education. The curriculum for the AEMT educational program shall be the 2009, or most current release of the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National Education Standards. The AEMT program must be conducted by an approved Advanced Educational Institution as defined in the rules of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission. The lead instructor for the AEMT educational program must be a NC credentialed Level II EMS Instructor at the AEMT or Paramedic level as defined in the rules of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission. Student prerequisites: A) Successful completion of an EMT educational program. Though a current and valid Credential is not required, an Educational Institution maintains the right to include this as a Prerequisite. B) High school diploma or high school equivalent; C) Reading comprehension and English language skills on the post-secondary level. D) Compliance with the mathematical skills on the post-secondary level

This course is conducted by the Cape Lookout Squadron of the United States Power Squadrons. It will provide basic boating knowledge education, including both Federal and North Carolina State required education. A traditional classroom education format will be used. Learning is facilitated with use of the America’s Boating Course student manual (included in cost), nautical teaching aids, and supportive PowerPoint (PPT) visual aids. The 16-hour program spans two Saturdays, beginning at 8 am and ending at 4 pm. Instruction gives you the basics you need to enjoy your time on the water safely and includes navigation, nautical charts, digital charting, and chart plotting. This format meets the standards set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Association of Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).
