This class is designed to teach the basics in acrylic painting. You will learn how to sketch, mix colors, blend and paint. Although there are many types of brushes, you will learn the specific brush type needed for the project you will be working on. You will also learn how to clean and maintain your brushes so they can last longer. Each class will begin with a brief demonstration of how to put all of this together to create your masterpiece!

The North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Sciences requires this of all paramedic students. Students who complete our Paramedic certificate program may be eligible to transfer credits into Carteret Community College’s Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Medical Science Bridge degree program.

This 660-clock hour course must follow the guidelines established by the NC Office of EMS. The Office of EMS must approve courses that include portions delivered via distance education. The curriculum for the Paramedic educational program shall be the 2009, or most current release of the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National Education Standards. The Paramedic program must be conducted by an approved Advanced Educational Institution as defined in the rules of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission. The lead instructor for the Paramedic educational program must be a NC credentialed Level II EMS Instructor at the Paramedic level as defined in the rules of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission. Student prerequisites: A) Successful completion of an EMT educational program. Though a current and valid Credential is not required, an Educational Institution maintains the right to include this as a Prerequisite. B) High school diploma or high school equivalent; C) Reading comprehension and English language skills on the post-secondary level. D) Compliance with the mathematical skills on the post- secondary level E) Anatomy and Physiology (Minimum EMS-3000).

This course is designed to provide instruction in the technical procedures for preparing and dispensing drugs in the hospital and retail settings under supervision of a registered pharmacist. Topics include drug packaging and labeling, out-patient dispensing, hospital dispensing procedures, controlled substance procedures, inventory control, and non-sterile compounding. Upon completion, students should be able to perform basic supervised dispensing techniques in a variety of pharmacy settings. Each student enrolled in this section is expected to attend all the meeting times and location listed below. The online work may be done anytime during the week, and the number of hours listed indicate how much time a student should anticipate it taking to complete the online assignments each week. Courses with both classroom and clinical components, have additional times listed for the clinical dates, which are located off campus.

This 5-day/45-hour course is designed for law enforcement officers involved in the tracking and monitoring of suspects through urban, suburban, or rural conditions for the purpose of documenting activities and potentially interdicting upon these actions. This training will provide narcotics and criminal investigators the knowledge of proper planning methods and techniques for conducting a successful foot, vehicle and stationary surveillance operation in an urban setting. Participants will receive instruction on: Operational Planning, Concealment Techniques, Prior Intelligence of Target Assessment, Safety Issues, Infiltration and Exfiltration Techniques, Equipment Needs, Personnel and Surveillance Strategies. This is a hands-on training exercise conducted under arduous conditions. Participants should possess a working knowledge of video equipment and be prepared to use it during training. This course is 90% field work. You will need a covert or unmarked vehicle and one video camera for every three (3) people. Please do not intend on using marked vehicles in this class. Course fee is waived for sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.

You will build confidence in your artistic ability while having fun as you learn to use different papers and techniques resulting in several finished collage projects. Your completed art project will be ready for framing! Students are required to bring the following items to class: Matte Mod Podge or Liquitex Basics Acrylic Matte Fluid Medium, container or package of wet wipes, various household items for mark-making , a hard surface to adhere collage project such as a wood panel, heavy cardboard, multimedia paper in a sketchpad, or stretched canvas, various sizes of brushes, various flat papers, Royal & Langnickel Acrylic Paint tubes from Walmart (your color of choice) or Apple barrel Acrylic Craft Paint set (your color of choice). All other supplies are provided by instructor.

The course focuses on various aspects such as dough preparation, rolling and cutting techniques, hand-cutting and shaping methods, creating flavored doughs, mastering stuffed pasta, preparing sauces, and learning how to cook and store pasta effectively.

The course will focus on preparing participants for the PMP exam by providing a thorough understanding of the project management lifecycle and the tools and techniques needed for successful project execution. Students will gain practical experience in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects. This training also serves as preparation for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.

This course is designed for instructional areas related to property and casualty insurance topics to meet the pre-licensing education requirements for insurance agents as prescribed by the North Carolina Department of Insurance - Agent Services Division. Course topics include terms & concepts, North Carolina Insurance Law, and multiple areas within P&C. The course intent is to prepare students to take and pass the NC Department of Insurance - Property and Casualty Insurance license exams.

This 40-hour certification course is designed to develop knowledge and skills used by Criminal Justice personnel who are authorized to use RADAR equipment used by their departments. Lecture, demonstration, and practical field exercises are the principal methods of instruction. Employment in the field of Criminal Justice and authorization of the department are prerequisites for enrollment in this course. Contact the NC Department of Justice for course standards.

This course is the first of three courses designed to assist the provisional broker to meet the 90-hour post-licensing educational requirement set by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. This course consists of high-level advanced instruction covering Agency relationships and duties to principals and third parties, working with sellers and working with buyers.
