Barbering Concepts
If you're looking for a career that helps people look their best, our Barbering Concepts program will assist you in becoming a professional barber-stylist. Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to take the North Carolina Board of Barbering Examiners exam to qualify as an apprentice.

Online Classes
Craven Community College offers a vast number of online courses through our educational partner, Ed2Go. Courses are designed to be engaging and fun while also educational and career enhancing. These courses are very affordable and usually require 24 hours of online instruction.
College & Career Ready
Earn a high school diploma or learn English as a Second Language (ESL) through the College & Career Readiness program. Additionally, our Transitions Academy program offers students with mild intellectual disabilities an opportunity to learn skills that prepare them for college or the workforce.

Gain the basic skills and general knowledge needed to begin a career as a Process Technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. A process technician operates, monitors, and controls the production process; receives, transports, and stores materials; collects and analyzes materials used in production; inspects and maintains the production equipment and control systems; keeps critical records on the process and product; and maintains company safety, health, and environmental standards. This course will also cover all aspects of the job search process, resume preparation, and interviewing practice. Lecture and assignments will be in-person and labs will be hands-on one night per week. Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent. The National Career Readiness Certificate completion is encouraged. 136 hours.

This course is designed and approved to prepare the student to become a certified EKG (ECG) and Technician/Monitor. The course will cover the anatomy and physiology of the heart, principles of EKG, dysrhythmia recognition of sinus, junctional/atrial rhythms, heart blocks and bundle branches and ventricular ectopy rhythms. Skills will include operating EKG equipment, running and mounting strips as well as reading and interpreting 22 types of cardiac lead tracings produced from 12 and five lead monitors and to understand the basics of capnography as it relates to heart function.
