Our 350-hour Commercial Driver License (CDL) program offers Class A options that will provide you with an excellent foundation for a truck driving career. You will be tested thoroughly on the road and through written exams to ensure that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully and safely operate commercial vehicles. The program meets the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration standards of specialized training in the areas of driver qualification, hours of service, driver wellness, and whistleblower protection for entry-level drivers who are subject to the requirements (49 CFR Part 380). If you’re a new driver, you’ll receive training for the North Carolina State Commercial Truck Driving License examination. All training instruction is provided at school facilities and in school-provided equipment. Free practice tests are also available. The Class A CDL course provides training on inspecting and operating tractor-trailers and assuming driving responsibilities on the road. Emphasis is placed on vehicle inspections, defensive driving, range maneuvers, motor carrier safety regulations and certification, and trip planning.

Pâte Sucree is unlike some other pastry doughs as it is sweet in flavor and has a crumbly and tender texture that makes it less flaky than traditional pie crusts. This 8-week course is designed to expose students to various occupations and skills in the construction trades as well as provide training on how to become employed in the construction industry. Students will complete the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Core curricula, the NCCER Field Safety curricula and will complete the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Safety Certification. Students will receive certification for each of these courses upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum. Students will get hands-on training as well as classroom training. Additionally, local employers in the construction trades will meet with the class to explain opportunities in their industry and share their experience and knowledge in the construction trades and the future of the construction trades, as well as, possible employment opportunities.

This course is designed to focus on new and emerging issues and special topics in any area of the criminal justice field.

This course is designed to introduce the student to the concept of interdiction in different environments and roadways and give them the tools necessary to be successful. This class is taught by an active officer currently assigned to an interdiction task force. Topics taught include (1) Introduction to the crime problem, (2) Change in driving behavior, (3) 4th amendment and case law, (4) Roadside interview, (5) Currency seizures, (6) Conducting the proper vehicle search. Course fee is waived for all sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.

This 360-clock hour course introduces theory, design, terminology, and operating adjustments for diesel engines and systems. Emphasis is placed on safety, the theory of operation, inspection, measuring, and rebuilding of diesel engines and systems according to factory specifications. Upon completion, students should be able to measure, diagnose problems, and repair diesel engines and systems. Students will receive certification through Daimler Get Ahead program.

This 360-clock hour course introduces theory, design, terminology, and operating adjustments for diesel engines and systems. Emphasis is placed on safety, the theory of operation, inspection, measuring, and rebuilding of diesel engines and systems according to factory specifications. Upon completion, students should be able to measure, diagnose problems, and repair diesel engines and systems. Students will receive certification through Daimler Get Ahead program.

This course is designed as a follow-up from obtaining the FAA Part 107 Certificate that will help participants conduct safe and legal UAS operations with a focus on building SOP’s, checklists, crew management practices, flight logging, maintenance, inspections, and obtaining FAA waivers and airspace authorizations. Course fee is waived for sworn NC Law Enforcement Officers and eligible, affiliated EMS/Fire & Rescue personnel.

Narcotic investigations can be the most dangerous type of investigation that a uniform officer might encounter in the performance of his/her duties. The officers attending this class will not only gain a complete awareness of the drugs facing them today, but they will acquire the expertise needed to make quality observations and sound judgments in determining drug use. Officers will be better equipped to identify drug distribution and smuggling not only in roadside situations but in the community that they patrol. The officer safety issues learned in this course will not only benefit the officers attending the course but the members of their community as well. Course fee is waived for all sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.
